Hey Everyone!

I've got a RSVP started in this sticky: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/tr...94-california-meet-greet-sept-5-7-2008-a.html as well as some hotel information listed.

We could use someone to help coordinate shore diving (for those that want to do that) and someone else to help coordinate the boat diving (for those that want to do that). It would be great to also have someone to help coordinate a Saturday night dinner and possibly a beach bonfire (if there are facilities).

It would be great if we could get people to RSVP now so that we know how many people are coming to the event!

There are frequent beach bonfires at Monastery (in Carmel). Don't know if they're legal or not, but I do know that memorials in the area usually include a bonfire for the person.

I could help out if anyone wants to do a night dive at Monastery but keep in mind that it's NOT a beginner dive spot. Others my want to get reservations for Point Lobos State Park. Diving there ranges from newbie beginner to advanced tech with scooters. I have an inflatable that I use when I dive Point Lobos to get to the nicer spots. I'm willing to ferry some people out for a one way dive if your navigation skills and SAC rates are decent. You'll need to make reservations two months in advance. See their website.

There is also some shore diving south of Point Lobos but it's only for hardcore/advanced divers. The difficult part is the hike to and from the water.

For lodging, Lone Oak, Travelodge, Borg's, in the Monterey/Pacific Grove area. Borg's is right across the street from three shore diving sites (Lover's Point) The other two involve a few minutes drive to the dive spots. There is a nice hotel on the beach in Marina (Dune's or something like that?) that is more upscale than the others.

The dive boats are Cypress Sea, Escapade, Monterey Express, Beach hopper 2, Silver Prince and the Sanctuary. The tech friendly/more advanced dive boats are Cypress Sea and Escapade.

If it's flat the place to dive is Carmel, and most of the dive boats will go there instead of staying in Monterey Bay. If we're really lucky and plan ahead we'll end up at Lobos Rocks.

Hello there So Cal SBers,

Capt Tim of the Monterey Express has graciously knocked $10 off the regular rate to fill spaces on an as needed bases for our MAG. That's $75 instead of the regular $85 for a 2 tank dive. If we can fill all 20 spaces we can get it for $65 per person.
Thank-You Capt Tim! :clapping::clapping::clapping:

We also have another option thanks to Ann Marie. :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Ann Marie is working on getting a 3 tank dive charter thru MBDC. This boat will accommodate 14 divers @ $67.50 per person.
