Hey all,

When comparing between my different guages I get a 300psi swing.... IE the transmitter on my Air Z Nitrox, DiveRite SPG show 300psi less then my DIN pressure checker....

I believe my AirZ and DiveRite SPG are correct - but the DIN checker is off.

Was wondering if this is normal, or any easy (affordable) way to recalibrate? (Or is this the price I pay for buying a no-name pressure checker.)

Thanks,

It is going to depend on the type of gauge but you will find with most gauges you can not really "calibrate" the gauge. Higher end / larger gauges are designed to be adjusted but most submersable gauges or not.

I have one master gauge calibrated annually and comparison check my others of this master. Most gauges need only be comparison checked once a year unless you suspect damage or as you stated one is signifigantly out of proportion to the others.

Depth gauges are checked every six months.

For most diving applications a tolerance level of 2% full scale is acceptable, I replace any submersable depth gauges that are reading more than 1% full scale shallow.

For your pressure check gauge it would most likely be cheaper to toss it and purchase a new gauge.
