thanks for all the advice...im actually inclined more on the bp/w setup becuase ive read it puts you in better trim, plus most have a crotch strap...when i wear the bc jackets they keep moving up my back and i cant look upwards without hitting my head on the tank.

Want to look like him?

So if someone who's gotten used to the BP/W setup for some reason has to use a jacket again, he'll be diving like the guy in the video? Isn't bouyancy control more dependent on breathing and finning techniques, balance, and experience rather than what BCD you wear? If your bouyancy control already comes naturally, shouldn't you be able to dive well with any type of bcd?

psst Cathy..right argument, wrong thread. Mga matitigas na ulo ng mga yan, sintigas ng backplate nila.

Seriously, Maytigas try to rent one first, dive with it and see if your comfortable with it. Don't mind the pogi points, a Jaguar or a porsche lang ang malaking dagdag sa pogi points (10,000,000 points). BP/W? nah, sa ilalim ng tubig lang yan, topside? sige suot mo.

cathy's right you know...

and that video was OA... look at the guy's finning technique (even during the jacket phase)... look familiar? pop quiz w/c cult pontificates the said finning technique/s?

a) barney
b) the teletubbies
c) buddy holy (erthanthou)

seriously though - it was hilarious, but not something you want to show to a noob or someone with a serious question...

oh you're referring to the video I linked! sorry, I should have said it was a joke. :) If you look at where the thread is located, it's in the humorous games, clips, yarns forum.

I actually agree that the best types of divers will be able to don any equipment and be able to use it no problem (Everyone admires a McGyver...). Although there is no denying that the equipment you use will also determine the outcome on your buoyancy.

The best advice we could give to mayastig is to just go out and rack up the dives using different equipment and what suits him. But since he says he wants tech, a BP/W would be the standard choice.

Agreed. And Mayastig, if you look like the guy in Jai's picture, chicks wouldn't mind even if you were wearing a salbabida (MOF or NMOF).

hahaha thanks for the responses...havent watched into the blue yet, i heard jessica albas hot hehehe... yeah i plan to try different setups first and rack the dives, i was just reading around and figured bp/w would better suit me... my only problem really is the crotch strap, i dont find that in most jacket bcs to keep it in place.
