Buy Gear or Dive Trip?

Ok,
Here's the situation.

I have enough money to buy my gear next week (BCD, regulator, octopus and gauges) in this diveshop blowout sale.

OR

I go on a Sharm diving trip for 1 week (5 days of diving)

What do you guys think?

I would buy the gear, and postpone the trip. Having your own gear would make the trip much more enjoyable. Perhaps it is just my personal prejudice, but I hate diving with rental gear. The Red Sea will probably be there for a while longer.

yea I think the Sharm reclamation projects aren't due for a few more months.

ok well let's find an excuse to cancel this one with my friends. anyone got any suggestions?

The current political issues. My mom won't let me go.

And being born in Damascus as well, makes it more "dangerous" because I might be targeted. actually I am closer to the war now than when I will go to Egypt, but yea..

I just came home from watching ALEXANDER.. what a bad movie. waste time AND money. I mean come on so much talk and fakeness!
