I'm pretty sure I have all the areas "explored" for the moment, thank you very much! ;)

Ive heard its a great area for "antiquing and shopping". Why would anyone even consider getting on a boat.... :mooner:

You gotta let me know what kind of visibility you have up there. I'm going to be up there with students June 5-6 and they're already asking LOL!

We plan to do the Sport and Mary Alice B for sure. I'm doing the Sport first dive the first day since none of my guppies have been on big water; I want to keep the dive easy. We may do 2 on the Sport the first day, they may be nervous enough about a whole new kind of site that they don't even notice the stuff on the wreck. I'll be on the lookout for the marker once I see they are calm and diving well.

Variable: Average to Decent! You can usually see the Sport once you get down 10' or so. Another good wreck really close is the Eliza Strong for a little variation - she's about 20' deep but much longer than the Sport so good to get students swimming on and great for doing ascents etc. if you need to. We hit those wrecks most Saturday afternoons during the season with lots of Open Water, Dry Suit & Rescue students doing their check-outs on them.

Have fun!

Isn't the Eliza Strong the one that's all busted up? I think I dove that my first time on the Great Lakes and I only remember a bunch of unidentifiable wood and 2 crayfish fighting under it. We were the only buddy pair on the boat to even find any wreckage so maybe we weren't on the main part?

Its an advanced class I'm taking up plus a couple of NAUI Master Diver students. I'm trying to find a nice balance of wrecks to fulfill class requirements without them having the traumatic experience I had my first time there. We did the Regina first and it was just too much new stuff thrown at me at once. I had to abort the dive before I ever saw the wreck and I was about 40 feet down on the descent line. Its been 13 years and I still remember the feeling of terror. I still don't like diving the Regina to this day. I have done 3 dives on that wreck and 2 were traumatizing. I want to make sure my students don't end up like me basically.

Yes! The strong is one of many that is broken up. It is in about 20ft of water. It was dynamited because of safety concerns. That is why it is all broken up. The Regina is one of the easiest dives in that area. I dont really know what to tell you. The Mary Alice B Is is a very easy dive. Sits in about 80 ft of water. Another easy dive is The sport about 57 ft of water. If these are Advanced and dive master students. Then they should be well seasoned divers. It isnt like your taking open water students out.

Master Diver, not Dive Master, different class but confusing name. My advanced group are still in their advanced class, the wrecks will be their first dives past 70 feet so I need to be on my game. I'm the one who doesn't want to do the Regina, that dive freaks me out. There is something dark and sinister about it in my mind that I can't shake.

I like the Mary Alice B and plan to make that dive 1 the second day. I don't really want to do a reverse profile with them on the first day. I want to use the Sport as first dive because its shallow and I don't want to intimidate them with a combination of first time on a boat dive and a deeper depth than they have ever experienced. One step at a time grasshopper. They are coming from the quarries after all. They have the skills to do the dive, I want it to be fun rather than stressful so they will want to go again.

The Bouy that was on the Sport came loose and is gone. I understand that Bruno's has recovered it and will replace it. I was there yesterday and there is a antifreeze bottle marking the wreck but the line is pretty thin and the heavier line comes up about five feet from the surface so we had to take our line down to that to tie off.

The marker is reattached. I moved the tire from the starboard deck cleat to the port (high side) as well. I would have removed the chain connecting the tire to the bottom of the line too but was running low on air and time at that point. Maybe next trip...
