Building a Save a Dive kit

It all depends on your diving and conditions. I dive dry so I have spare wrist and neck seals. Lots of bungee, O rings, bolt snaps, extra hosesx extra reg set, etc.

Din - yoke adapter (depending on where you are )

I keep a spare LP as well

If you have any specialty items as part of your kit, such as the short hoses I use for sidemount, make sure you have spares of them. 12” hoses probably not going to be available at the average dive shop somewhere. I order them online.

Din tank adapter to yoke

I took the adapter out of my tank because my regulators are DIN
But for some compelling reason, decided to keep the adapter in the SAD kit

We were going to a shallow site and I was going to be diving solo
I remembered there is a nearby deep reef (27 to 35 meters) and asked the captain to drop me off there
Captain was hesitant because I'd be alone, so I asked a friend to join but he was on air
My second tank was also nitrox and the second dive was sort of shallow - no burning need for nitrox
so I said he could use my second tank - but his regulator was yoke and my second tank was DIN
So the adapter worked out perfectly

He got to dive a new site, I got to dive there, and the captain was comfortable

Believe it or not, all of that (except the regulators & hoses) fits super-compact in a relatively small tool-bag.

@SlugMug Can you post a pic and the tool bag you use? I'm always torn between keeping my kit compact and wanting to be able to handle more issues. Curious how compact you got all that stuff.

I think it depends a lot on where you are diving and how long. I generally like to bring an entire spare regulator with computer and all hoses etc. Then any failure on my regulator can be handled by some channel locks.. more or less.

Maybe a mouth piece thrown in a box, maybe a spare light. zip ties are always nice, a spare bolt snap, some string, fishing line or cave line for misc issues. A couple spare tank o-rings, often a spare mask, sometimes a spare knife and I often throw one extra glove in the gear bag - might have to wear it backwards.

An allen wrench for port plugs and some pliers and usually an extra speargun.

If it is a multiday trip, I often bring an extra freedive fin, in case one blows out of the boat or something.
