@Marie13 reading Sec 3.c 1-3 is this saying that you could potentially (if not being tariffed on actual cost per ss b), have to pay $80-$200 flat tariff on something like a $0.40 o-ring (or whatever hypothetical dollar part you order)? If so that's f'cked.

Yep. That’s why you folks who were in the habit of ordering from overseas need to get out of the habit. Like yesterday.

This doesn’t apply if the item is shipped from a US warehouse since the company who imported it got it here and paid duty.

My wife buys o-rings from China (almost all o-rings are from China) a million at a time. A million -001 orings last September were $1,900 bucks. In May they were 7 cents a piece.

Still a penny a piece from O-rings and More.

Ah, so only $10k instead of $2k

And, she isn't the buyer. I used to go to the big O-ring shop in Houston and get all of the 111, 014, and 214s in Buna for dirt cheap. I'd also buy the urethane 014s for a dime each, where the scuba wholesalers wanted a buck each.

But, scuba wholesalers are a scam anyway.

I can buy 100 for a dollar. I suspect if I asked for a million they might cut me a deal.

It never made sense to me that you could have some item worth less than $800 shipped directly to you from overseas and pay no duty, but the same item that arrived in a shipping container with hundreds like it has some amount baked into its retail price. It was a loophole. Good riddance.
