Finding contacts in PADI's so-called worldwide website is proving more difficult than the hunt for Iraqi WMDs.

I feel, after nine weeks, it's time to start bugging PADI about my cert. card - anyone suggest an email address for such enquiries? They mention regional offices, but the only contacts page is for the CA office (HQ) - does anyone know how to contact their London office - if it exists? I received the quality control email from them and found myself on their database (student number and the 06 Jan qualification date) so they know I exist.

Also, is it really a possibility that they would have sent the cert. cart to the certifying instructor - I completed in Jamaica, 06 Jan, surely they wouldn't send it there when I clearly gave a home address in London!?

Cheers,

K.

Who they send the card to is dependant on how the PIC was filled out.

Call the instructor or call PADI's toll free number and follow the menu. They'll be able to tell if it was processed, when, where and if it was mailed out.

Three weeks is about average for card delivery.

Hi K

On the certification card you filled out (blue PIC card) there was a box asking where the card was to be sent. If your instructor ticked the 'student' box it will come to you if your instructor ticked the 'instructor' box it will go to him.

If you have a PADI dive center nearby you could get them to contact PADI Intl. Ltd for you and locate the missing card.

I hope you get your cert card soon and get diving.

Their major office for Europe is in fact not London but Bristol. Here is the addres:
PADI international
Unit7
St. Philips Central,
Albert Road, St. Philips
BristolBS2 0PD

and the phone number:

well... the SOP here in Florida is for them to send the card to the shop you took the class through... might be what they have done in this instance?

Thanks guys,

It seems madness to send a card to a resort on the other side of the world from the student's home address. I didn't notice any tick box on the form, but being on holiday I didn't keep a photocopy as I do for all forms at home/work.

Mania - thanks for that Bristol number - I'll try it tomorrow.

PADI's toll free number isn't toll free for international calls and then there's the whole time zone business. I called HQ and after a series of automated choices and a long sequence of "The next orc will get to you when they feel like it..." I got an answering machine promising a call back in "3-4 days" - that would mean me sitting by the phone between 5pm and 1am for the next week or so...

PADI's claim "The way the world learns to dive..." seems to use the same definition of World as baseballs' World Series... %^S

Cheers,

K.

I would be happy to do a Dive Check for you to see if the PIC was processed. I would need your name as it was filled out on the PIC and your date of birth. We need exact info for this to work.

You can PM me if you don't want that info broadcast in public.

The Dive Check will tell you if your cert was ever processed. You could then give that info to your local PADI office, wherever that is and they would help you out.

It shouldn't take nine weeks to get your card. Something is wrong.

You mean the North American Men's Championship Series? :mischief:

hey, WileEDiver, i was thinking about your sig (Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away)... and i was thinking, wouldn't it be more accurate to say:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number we let out

????

Aren't they the same (plus or minus 1)?
