Just noticed something strange. Most of the wireless integrated Oceanic computers on their website are either low in stock, or out of stock. Did oceanic find a flaw or something??

Sorry to drop such a statement and run off to the DEMA show. Buddy Pressure Check has been removed due to a patent infringement claim which we chose not to fight. Units with Buddy Pressure Check (BPC) will continue to be serviced and supported. If you return a unit with BPC, you will receive a refurbished unit with BPC in return. If you return a unit without BPC, you will receive a unit without in return.

We will support both units with firmware updates as they are needed in the future.

Thanks for the clarification Doug, that helps a lot in understanding what's going on. My Atom2 needs service and this will be helpful in making sure the local repair center knows how to handle the situation.

Another poster has noticed that the latest rev of OceanLog has removed the ability to program the buddy check feature and the SN for the buddy1&2 transmitters. Will this be added back into OceanLog at some point, perhaps enabled/disabled based on whether the connected DC has the buddy check feature available or not?

Ah ok that makes a lot more sense. There is a difference between a patent infringement vs a trademark infringement. You can always rename something with a trademark infringement.
