any tips how to do good ones, diving in Florida now and my daughter is schooling me during safety stops. I can get one, but it is broken up quickly.

Go to a cigar bar for best practice techniques. One proper stick can get you 1:20 BT, err, puffing time.

Same method, but head upturned.

It's all in the jaw pop. Practice makes perfect.

Or learn how to do it with your fists.

I have no problem blowing bubble rings but I have tried to do this with fists countless times and can form a ring once out of a hundred tries...I can't seem to figure out the knack/trick to doing it. Any tips?

LOL, no, no tips. I haven't been able to do it either way, so amuse myself by diving into them instead.

I'll practice today popping the jaw, don't want to get schooled by the youngster.

I hadn't thought about a cigar for practice, now that I think about it, its the same thing, maybe just not as healthy.

Could always try with a vape unit, too. Pretty much anything that you can exhale smoke/vapor would work. I find that when trying to blow smoke rings, it has a lot to do with your tongue, too. Just a slight flick or forward motion seems to work for me. Same principle underwater.

Maybe try this?

Or you could just practice skills during the safety stop.

For blowing bubble rings, I am not sure what the jaw popping thing is but here is how I do it from a written standpoint:

1. Breath in and retain a mouthful of air
2. tilt head back or lie back
3. remove 2nd stage from mouth
4. stick tongue out between closed lips retaining the air in the mouth
5. blow a portion of the air out of your mouth while semi-forcefully retracting your tongue.
6. the sound you should make when practicing this is a "thuh-tew" type sound formed by the movement of the tongue and closing of the lips as the tongue is retracted, as well as the passage of air out of the mouth.

when done correctly a bubble in the shape of a ring is formed.

On one mouthful of air one can usually make a few bubble rings.

It helps to be at least a few meters deep when doing this so that the bubble can expand and form the ring.

I hope that is not too abstract.
