Came up from a dive this morning in the BVI to a Mayday call coming in over the radios aboard. We were too far away to head that way but picked up info that there was an unresponsive and non breathing diver on the RMS Rhone. I unfortunately did not catch the name of the vessel calling Mayday.

I checked with a local dive shop later and they said it was a female diver, VISAR (local search and rescue) had responded and airlifted the diver to the USVI where the nearest deco chamber is and she was breathing again.

Does anyone have anymore information on what may have happened? I cant imagine what went wrong. The currents were a bit bad on monday but nothing life threatening, the wreck is pretty much laid out blown open on the bottom with a few very safe swimthroughs. Maybe someone not watching their gas supply?

It was our boat that called mayday. I would love to get an update if anybody has one.

From Mike at Sail Caribbean Divers :

Thanks for your concern...the patient was transported to Peebles Hospital here on Tortola. She has since been transferred to another hospital in the USA for further treatment.
We are all anxious for an update, however have not been informed as yet.

Thank you again for your concerns and prayers.
