I used the light for the first time tonight and was quite impressed with the brightness and burn time... after 80mins @ 100% I couldn't really notice any signs of dimming. I used Keepower 5200 protected button top cells.

One thing I noticed is that the beam is not very focused so might not be useful for those looking to use it for signalling in tech diving. I guess this comes as no surprise as the DIV10 is advertised between 10 and 12 degrees beam angle, depending on the vendor. I'm mainly interested in using it for recreational night dives and some basic wreck diving which I think the light is perfect for.

As mentioned in earlier posts the screws are not the best I'll be looking to replace them soon.

Hi Archer

Can you confirm if the 2nd version of the DIV10 is marked "ELF-TSD3000"

Does this newer model have an improved (and shinier) cable?

Yes, we used new and longer lifespan cable on DIV10 now.
And Brinyte is an OEM manufacture, we also put our customers' logo on lights.
So you could also see our flashlight on market, but not Brinyte Brand:wink:.

Yes, now our DIV10 has new cable, longer beam distance.
And "ELF-TSD3000" is a paint on light according to our customers's requirement.:cool2:

Received my DIV10 light yesterday with the shinier cable. It looks very good and reliable, but time will tell. I agree with previous posts that the screws are very bad. I will replace them before I jump into the water.

I will receive the batteries (Keeppower 26650 5200mAh 3.7V LiMn (protected)) today. At this moment the water is too cold (Netherlands), about 5 degrees celcius. As soon as it hits the 10 degrees (probably in April) I will try the new light.

I got my drysuit finally, now I just need to find a body of water that isn't frozen over and a buddy to dive it.

:wink:Hello, this is Archer from Brinyte, marketing department.
Thanks your feedback and advises to our diving light.
The Div10 have been improved some parts, such as the cable. It will be more and more perfect

Regards~
Thanks for stopping by. Have you guys considered changing the canister shape to a shorter and wider canister that uses 18650s in an array?
Just curious, because your canister is the longest I know of.

A few pointers that could make a "China light" like this, a good light. and yeah i really think it would sell better then also!
- Don't "glue" the whole thing together. Impossible to service with time, and really it's just stupid.. manufacture full service kits (o-rings) for the whole light, and it could live "forever"
- Small changes to the "stock" reflecors would make the light much(!) more usable for us not diving clear waters all year. (Less light spill/ corona)
- The cabel glands you used on this have reported to tear appart the cable with time. (with other brand lights using same gland aswell)
- better cable is a must aswell. Shiny stiff fancy cabel is no good, get a solid one thats not to stiff.
- i would really like to see a toggle switch with protector. Magnetic switch have waaaay to many reports of failing with time.

The design of the lighthead i think is good! Really dont have to be so big since the driver is in the canister. But oh well. Same for canister, its good enough.. buuut yeah it could have a little better battery power/twice the size canister or something. Lenght wise i found it to be ok.

My two cents at least :)

Adding to what the_dragon_no1 has said:

The easy change that can make you light a lot more ready:
- The canister light cable in your current DIV10 is too long by about 1ft. It is not the longer the better.
- the metal handle is too wide. Light Monkey and Halcyon cold water handles are about 3/4 inches narrower.
- Cable can be more flexible.

These would be nice to have:
- remove the driver and switch from canister and put them on the head. So the canister can be shorter. A slightly longer head to accommodate the driver and the switch will be OK.
- For battery configuration, instead of 3x1 26650 in series, which is long and skinny, how about 2x3 18650? Physically configure as stack of 2, each stack contains 3 cells. Electrically, still 3 in series and 2 groups in parallel. This may require a bettery holder like in Div03 light. So the canister can be shorter and a bit wider.

I have been modifying dive lights for a while and have many ideas. If you want to discuss, please PM me. We can even communicate in Chinese as well.

Yes, it is quite a bit of changes if they did all of it. I think the current div10 has a very nice light head already, doesn't need to change.

I think the narrower goodman handle or better cable will be an easy change

The batteries on my new DIV 10 died just after all of one dive. I hope they cover it under their warranty.

Not good.
