Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I just got certified from Huron Scuba in Brighton, MI, down in White Star QUarry earlier today. At first I didnt understand why they go way down to Ohio, when there are so many lakes by us. But when I got there, I understood, crystal clear water, with 50 foot viz, and a water temp of around 50. That was the clearest I have ever seen fresh lake water....... It was nice, did 2 dives on Saturday, the 8th, and 2 on Sunday, to earn the certification from NAUI. If anybody needs a buddy around South Lyon, MI area (Kensington, Spring Mill Pond, etc) dont be afraid to drop me a line........Now all I need to get is the BC and I am set......

I had the privilege of having a couple of instructors from your shop on the dive boat today.

I hope that you have fun here!

Chris,

Welcome to the world of diving. If you're going to dive Spring Mill Pond be ready for much less vis and colder temps than at Whitestar. It's a great spot to just get wet or work on some skills but not quite the same as the quarries.

Glad you found us! This is a great place to spend your SI, but watch out, it's addictive!

You even found the part of the board dedicated to your neighbourhood. Bravo!

Welcome to the board! Were you part of the group with the lime green hoods? My AOW class was the one set up next to you that kept putting orange juice jugs attached to rocks into the water then trying to find them again. I'm the brunette who was walking around giving the orders :D

Glad to have you aboard and glad you enjoyed the cool, clear water at White Star!
