I glance at so many posts on this board from new divers looking how to distrbute the incredible amounts of weight that they inevitably are carrying. A bunch in the pockets of the BC, maybe even an additional weightbelt. Oh where to hang 30-35lbs ( cold water ) that many new divers are convinced they need, on a jacket BC? Is that conducive to good trim?
With a BP/W, you can get plates in varying weights, weighted STA's, and a simple weightbelt for the ditchable. Much more logical distribution of the weight. I feel new divers would be helped by this, but the set-up is considered " tech " for some bizarre reason. I can't think of a single advantage to a stab jacket in cold water. Can you?
