All,
Where can I buy BP/W STA bolts? Everywhere online has them at like 8-15$ for a pair and I find it hard to believe they truly cost that much so I am going to head to a hardware store to look for a solution. Does anyone know what size they are for a typically purchased in U.S. Plate/STA? Thanks!

If your STA has square holes for the bolts to pass through, you are looking for stainless steel carriage bolts, washers, and butterfly nuts....either in 5/16 inch or 3/8 inch diameter. If the STA holes are round then you need hex head bolts...size would be the same as above.

I'd try McMasterCarr. What you need: 5/16 x 18 TPI x 1.25 to maybe 1.5" " grip length. Stainless Carriage Bolts, 18-8 or 316. 18-8 is plenty, but 316 is OK too, I just would not pay up for 316 if the 18-8 are available. You should verify the length required. It can vary a little depending on the STA, and the Grommets used in the wing, washers and lock washers used. You want enough thread projection to fully "fill" what ever you use for a nut. Too long is not good either.

Ace Hardware has them in stock for about that. How much are you willing to spend on gas(oline)?
(assuming you're in Manhattan) What something "truly costs" is problematic.

just came back and got them for 2.75$. Stainless and they fit. Not sure why your ace is so much more expensive than mine?!?!

Hardware store stainless stuff often isn't the same grade as you get in a marine store or a scuba vendor. Maybe your is.
