Another option that you might want to consider is getting a long hose that is shorter that stays out of the way without having to tuck it under or into anything. I have tried 5ft, 6ft, and 7ft hoses before settling on one. 5 ft was too short. 7 ft I gave up on as I don't always dive with my canister and I steadfastly avoid having to reconfigure anything dive to dive -- so moving a knife or shears on and off was not an option for me. The 6 footer I find to be perfect. Hose is out of the way without a need to tuck or stuff it. FifthD has 6 ft hoses.
 
i have an oms pocket that slides over the belt webbing. I use it to secure the 7 foot hose since i don't have a nice can light yet. It works very good and the pouch is pretty well made. If you go oms might want to get the smaller of the pouches as the big one is huge and makes getting to a right side D ring a real pain
