I want a pocket on my BP to secure a 7ft hose. Which pockets are the best for this. I like the look of the Halcyon but I'm sure there are probably better/cheaper pockets that thread into the harness. Anyone have good/bad experience with a particular pocket.
Thanks.

All my pockets are glued on so I don't have experience with the pockets that slip onto the waist strap and then attach to the leg... however www.oxycheq.com has some of that kind and they are much cheaper than Halcyon and look like they would do the job for you.

Alternately you could glue on pockets and then put a knife on the right waist strap to hook the long hose under when diving without a caniters light.

I already have pockets on my DS. I thought about doing the knife thing but don't like it in that spot. Thanks for the mention about Oxycheck

I think you will find that the portable pocket will not work if you already have pockets on the drysuit.

Another suggestion would be to put a sheath with EMT shears on the right.

Another suggestion would be to tuck a loop of hose into the waist belt on the right.

Why won't the two work together?

I got the Dive Rite pocket and it works well. Don't have a canister light yet, but in the meantime this pocket keeps my long hose in the correct position and also houses my shears and some other dive accessories.

If you have pockets on your suit already, the pocket that slides on your harness may interfere with your ability to get into the one on your thigh. Just tuck excess hose in your harness waist strap, works just fine.

... you won't be able to access the pocket already on your suit.

Addtionally you most likely won't be able to secure the thigh strap around your leg unless your suit pocket is at the knee.

Put a sheath from a mini-mag flash light on your right waist harness and loop the hose under that. If you don't want to put a little knife or shears in the sheath put a popsicle stick in it. Check your junk drawer for both the popsicle stick and the mini-mag sheath.

Or just tuck a loop in the waist strap as several of us have suggested.

Is there a reason you don't want to use the pockets on your suit for pockets?

I only have one pocket right now on my DS. I will be adding a second but won't have it put on for a while. In the mean time I wanted to add another pocket for a few things. Maybe I will do the shears on the belt though.
