I have looked around for bottom timers and have only found one version, by Uwatec, that is also marketed by ScubaPro and OMS - they all look completely identical, so i assume they are.

I have tried to search around, but couldnt find anyone else who makes one. Do you have a BT, what make/model (still available!), what options do i have with regard to these items?

This thread is about BT's, not computers, another thread on that another time!

A lot of the newer computers have a guage mode, plus fancy logbook and downloading functions.

The uwatec and the OMS are exactly the same. All bottom timers are pretty much the same. Mine that you saw logs up to 9 dives, gives max depth, current depth, bottom time, temp, lets you know your ascent rate (kinda) and keeps track of the surface interval time. I bought it over at Spruce Creek Scuba in Port Orange by Daytona. I can't think of others that make them.

Well, this may not be what you want then ... but my Stinger has a "gauge" mode where it acts as a simple BT and DepthGauge
Thing is that i dont like the idea of paying another couple of hundred $ for options when i can get a BT for a lot less. There was another that i saw which was the Suunto D3, but that again was almost computer price for not much more (feature wise) than the Uwatec/ScubaPro/OMS BT.

Wendy,

i think your was exactly what i saw online as well. I think that is all i would really need, and IF i were to go to a computer than it would still make a good back-up - certainly better than the cheap sports watch i currently use and huge console thing that i rent each time (buying my other gear real soon!!!)
