I have read many things about dir, including the fundamentals book. But I don't think I have read where you preferably put your bottom timer, left or right wrist? Can anyone enlighten me please?

Now I'm diving with the BT on my right wrist and the compass on my left. This is just how I started, no real thought behind it. The only thing I can see as a plus is that I can look at my BT without moving the left hand where the light is and accidentaly blind someone. Or in case the backlight of the BT is broken, light the BT with my light.

At the moment I don't see any drawbacks with having the BT in my right wrist.

Right wrist is correct placement, for the reasons you already figured out on your own :)

Also you dump with the left and everything is done with the left hand and you always want a visual on depth and time

You are correct. Also - if you're in a buddy ascent situation, you'll be working your buddy's inflatory with your right hand, having your BT / Depth in your own face to keep the ascent under control.
