While the airfare on Delta and others can be higher to Bonaire than to other dive destinations, The cost of staying in Bonaire seems considerably cheaper than in other places. Not saying it's the rule, but it does seem that way. We are heading to Bonaire for the first time on Friday, so we're no experts, but when you factor in the ease of diving, the reasonable prices for air (tanks), and the fact that we rented a new villa overlooking the water with its own private pool for $2400 for the week, the total cost of the trip is comparable to other places where you might get cheaper air, but pay more in lodging, boat diving, etc., it seems to all work out to pretty much the same. With some exceptions, of course, but generally speaking....
Good point. It is the total cost of trip that matters, not just the airfare. And it is also the total number of dives that I take into consideration. Dividing $X by 12-15 (many places) vs 20-30 (Bonaire) to get a per-dive price kinds of makes the airfares less important.

To answer the previous question about pricing from MN to Bonaire. 10 years ago it was about $700 or so, now it is hard to find it for under $1100 or so. That is on Delta.

CPI change alone from then to now would account for about half of that increase.

Van Den Tweel prices are higher than "upscale" WI US supermarkets. Maybe if Venezuelans are allowed to bring in their groceries and beer again... But I highly doubt the Dutch-run Bonaire can beat SEA for prices. Main problem is you can't go to SEA for a week because you're going to spend 4 days traveling, one day not diving, and that leaves you with 2 days of diving with serious jetlag.

Bonaire, you can leave home in the morning and go for an evening dive the same day.

ATL -> BON is $720 on Delta in basic economy. Dates are 3/22-3/29. Add $80 if you want to pick your seat ahead of time.

For the most part, having been to bonaire at least 5 times now, we usually fly out of Boston, truck, airbnb, and tanks for around $1500'ish per person.
