I'd love to try Bohemia Oscura, but I've never found it here where I live. Will be in Cozumel next June; maybe then.I like Negra Modelo OK, but to my taste it has a bit of a bite. I prefer the smoother Bohemia Oscura.

I am particularly fond of porters, myself. There are several good ones brewed nearby.I agree. I've been drinking Negra Modelo for something like 30 years. (I think they relabeled it Modelo Negra for consistency with its sister, Modelo Especial.) But when I discovered Bohemia Oscura I realized this style could be done better. Getting somewhat off topic, there are some nice US craft beers in the Mexican Vienna Lager style. We have a local brewery with an offering in this style that I think beats even Oscura. But I digress. When in Cozumel, Oscura!
I am going to shop for this hallowed beer in November and enjoy some in y’all’s honor if I can find it.
Pass me one, wouldya?
Yes, that is the only local brew to miss at home! Went too early (October) this year and bummed in missing itThis time of year (or very soon) it is Bohemia Noche Buena time for me. It is a bit stronger (5.9 vs 4.9%) than the classic Bohemia Oscura and is only available around Christmas.
Es una cerveza obscura de cuerpo robusto. Perfecto!
In three weeks and these bad boys will be in the belly.
