I think I am just going to go in with my lionfish spear, kill it and bring it out and see what happens. Whether you take a net or spear, you are still hunting.

The issue is spearing near a bridge/beach which I believe can cause trouble w/the FWC. Although, I may have taken my ELF spear to hunt Lionfish there...I certainly don't recommend it 
More than one person has taken a spear there to eradicate lionfish.

I think I have witnessed JimW take his reg out and catch lionfish with his teeth. (head first of course)

Just because you happen to accidentally stab a lionfish u/w, does not mean you need to bring any evidence of this back to the surface with you. IJS
It is not like this is a protected, or endangered species (we wish...), so it's ok in my world to feed it to those who are.

It is not like this is a protected, or endangered species (we wish...), so it's ok in my world to feed it to those who are.
I am thinking that the new piece of gear many of us might want, is a machete, which we can wear on our belt...then in case we accidentally stab a lionfish 45 times, we can then use the machete to safely prepare the lionfish for the enjoyment of rest of the marine life at the park
