Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Heading to BHB from kentucky in early April. Any good place to stay for 2 nights? Have 6 of us and a pool at the place is a necessity. Any help is appreciated.

Many places such as Sheraton and Marriott on Singer Island, as well as a lot of rental condos by owner....Singer is the eastern side of the bridge. We have stayed near BHB at Super8; north of BHB on US1 and reasonably priced. If you cross the bridge going east and turn right you will find a lot of mom and pop places to stay--they can be a little pricey, but they can be good and well priced too. The Hilton has some nights at $89. I am told, I have looked and not found them that cheap though...yet...Seaspray Inn on Singer Is is decent and fairly low priced--stayed there several times in past years.

I stay at the PGA Super 8 and it has a pool. It isn't fancy but I have found it to be ok and I call directly and get a discount if I mention I am a diver. There's good food all along there too. Really good breakfast place.

We went to BHB yesterday and found viz of about 10-15ft and a water temp of 75. I was comfy for the first time in a while meaning that I didn't start getting cold for over an hour! Went east and I thought we would see some octos--nope! I am told they seem to be on the west side.

Hi all, I was diving at BHB yesterday and lost my Sola Photo 600 light- it's black and red. I believe I lost it on the east side of the bridge. If anyone finds it, I'll give a reward. Please call me at 561-701-6753. Thank you so much, hopefully someone finds it!

High tides those days are mid day. approx. 1,2,3 PM, pick up free printed tide tables at Force E down the street or Pura Vida on Singer Island just east of the bridge. Many sites online offer tide tables--use times for Port of Palm Beach.

Diving BHB is usually around a high tide for better viz, you COULD try it outside those times though in an ain'tbeenwet emergency! The beach is open daylight hours only. Should you go at off times--I suggest staying mostly south off the beach and out of the swimmin' area when the lifeguard is there to avoid yelling and currents.......btw, lifeguard is there 9am--5:20pm.

Any reports from this mornings hi tide at 7AMish?

Thanks for the reply --- I dove there a few years ago when they were doing construction off to the left. I WILL BE diving in the afternoon but I was interested in doing a night dive there also this time around. I'm sure that a night dive at low tide wouldn't be worth the effort.

We dove BHB last night on the ForceE/Pura Vida free night dive and found 75 degree water and around 10-15 ft viz. with a lot of stuff in the water column=kinda cloudy! We found another group of divers over east and our respective flags battled. Sadly we lost our flag bearer during the fight--so be careful out there!! I saw a couple of tiny Sea Robins, a big Jawfish, and a really neat bright red nudi about 1.5-2.0 inches long. Aric found the critter and his light shining thru it from the oppositr side was most interesting--it looked as though it was generating light internally!! Nice dive, and a nice time at Brass Ring after.......
