I'd go with Thalassinidean Shrimp (Corallianassa longiventris)

Is that one in the bible? I am away from my books right now. We just saw a tiny white dotted black baby trunkfish I think, it was nearly cubical and maybe a quarter inch on each side..........We are on Bonaire right now.

Mntlblok's suggestion matches what is in the 3rd edition reef creature....aka red-orange ghost shrimp

Conditions yesterday viz maybe 25ft, a little milky, water temp has been holding at 82°. I was actually a little warm, even at the end of my dive, and am contemplating less neoprene.

What is the best book you use for critter ID and where can you find it. Looking for a good one for the Atlantic and Carribean. Hope your having a good time in Bonaire. Thanks.

djtimmy above made reference to the Reef ____ books by Humann, DeLoach, etc.
There is a new edition of Reef Fish, the 4th; just out and available from the publisher and REEF. They publish a series of books, Reef Creatures, Reef Coral, etc. Most places won't have the 4th Fish as it only became available this week.

Fourth of July picnic sounds delightful. A 1:53 PM high tide means somebody should be grabbing a picnic table by 6:30am.. Be there by 8 for a parking space.. No, I am no kidding.. the place will be packed.

any vis reports from yesterday? Going up later on today and hoping we are avoiding the storms..
