I'll second the conditions at the bridge. Saw that huge school of jacks, hundreds of them. Awesome. Some snorkeler got some really good footage, diving into them. Saw the usual cast of characters, both topside and under the waves. :D cept Tim who had to leave. :(

Great Dive and thanks to Tim the blenny curse is lifted.
That little sucker is just high enough to cheat the tripod and tiny enough to give the +10 diopter fits.
Saw houndfish hunting a flashing ball of minnows which was working great till they figured I made a good place to hide.
Nudies eluded us as well but swimming back with dead batteries Kelly found a school of tiny squid hiding with sargassum washing ashore, when approached all 10 would put up there long tentacles in the squid crane kick then jet away in ten puffs of ink. Awesome. Thanks again Tim!

Concur. Tim has some sort of "critter radar" that lets him find this stuff.

MrChen warned me about this at dinner the night before; how you can go over an over an area, then he finds something with 10 seconds of searching. Awesome guy to dive with, and just my speed.

You guys give me too much credit.

So here are some pics from today's dive.....

I was trying to get a clear pic of one of these tiiiiiiny guys:

When Biminitwist came over and wanted me to come see this guy:

Here is the roughhead blenny he wanted to see (going to have to go back because I am not totally happy with my lighting on it):

And some other cool critters I got decent shots of:

And finally I have to make one big. I got a shot of a tube anemone that I think looks really wild:

Agreed

More like ridiculous :)

Ok, I've finished my pictures. I have about 12, but would like to establish a "gallery".

Can anyone show me how this is done? I'm just a tanker, if it's more complicated than hitting it with a 25 pound sledgehammer, I get confused.

Enjoy the pictures. (I hope). I may not be on par with djtimmy, but these were the best of my shots that trip.

  1. The “pupils” on that Mantis Shrimp, and the way they moved looked like holograms. It weirded me out seeing it for the first time.
  2. The Seahorse that jimw found.
  3. Bumblebee Shrimp.
  4. 15 minutes into the dive, and djtimmy is already finding Nudibranchs. Crazy.
  5. Scuba Jenny, I told you I seen that Seaweed Blenny before! :D
  6. Reticulated Sea Slug
  7. Flabellina Dushi Nudibranch. My sister gave me a book of Nudibranchs for Christmas. I love her. :D
  8. More Bumblebee Shrimp
  9. Bluethroat Pikeblenny
  10. Yellowface Pikeblenny
  11. Three competing Lancer Dragonets
  12. Two displaying Lancer Dragonets. These were awesome to watch displaying.
