Are you finding the magnifying glass worth the effort??

I just bought it so today was the first time I used it. And Yes! It was worth the effort. Except when I set it down beside my flag to take some photos and promptly forgot about it. Swam away and then remembered. Ooops! It's clear plastic except one tiny bit of black on the handle. I thought it would be a sacrifice to the sea gods before I located it again. I need to figure out a way to secure it to my flag when I want to set both down.

Jet, I really like the seahorse shots.

I cruised past BHB on Deep Obsession today- I was excited to finally get a feel for the layout. Can't wait to be there tomorrow night!

See you tonight! I think we are diving the trail, then heading east tonight. If you see an overweight balding 40 year old white male near a white F150 in the parking lot, come say hi. I usually park near the playground, but I might park closer to the east side today.

Cool snail. Are you finding the magnifying glass worth the effort??

I carry one in my bc pocket and mostly forget to use it! Mine is about 4 inches across and that seems about the right size.

Chris, isn't this your description from your online dating site?

I tried the magnifying glass a while back, but eventually found it easier just to get my face closer to what I am trying to see. Hopefully I won't want to get closer to a mantis shrimp or bobbit worm!

Two problems with that for me. I have "readers" in my mask, but they're poorly positioned. I have to bend my neck a bunch to use them, and can only really see through one side at a time even then. My eyes are too close together (a clear indicator of stupidity).

Ok I just had one of the maintenance guys drill a hole through the handle so I can add a lanyard. Almost lost it again today. Sheesh. Set it down to adjust my mask and ??where'd it go?!?

Jim - mine is also 4" across and seems about perfect. $5.99 at Walgreens. Such a deal.

Not the greatest photo but check out the dorsal fin on this seahorse from today. I thought there were only two types at the bridge: lined and longsnout. But apparently there is at least one more species: "Island Seahorse"?? Distinguished by the yellow dorsal fin? Is this an Island? He was dancing with his baby momma. We might have more soon!
