If you're a weenie like me, I got chilled today. Water temp 73°. I have two piece 3mm and hood. Hood makes all the difference. However, when I was swimming, I was comfortable. Staying still, got cold.

BTW, today's dive... I so needed a zen dive, and chose to go solo, letting the thoughts in my mind float away with the walnut jellies.. I kinda had a direction to go, but was open to a game plan change. I also brought both cameras. They are identical model. and housing. One has diopters, the other the strobe. Dare I could one up with both.. :shakehead: I was in the water about 2 minutes when I saw my first pipefish. A nice little thing, about 4" long. I shot a photo, and my camera reads "card full." Huh? I only shot one photo. Crud. Forgot the memory card. Since it was so early in the dive, and I was still close to shore, I trudged back out. Dried up the cameras, and put memory card from the housing with the strobe. Put it in the car and head back out. Was out about a half hour when I found this really cool nudi. In the nudi book, looked similar to a cerberilla tanna, about a 1/2" long. Dang camera quit. No flashing light. Nothing. Just dead.
At this point I had to really work hard at telling myself not to abort the dive. I can be here with out a working camera.. Of course I kept trying to make it work. Had no idea why it quit. Drat. Drat. Drat.
So, long story short, I did not have a zen dive. But, I have to keep reminding myself it was hardly boring. 2 pipefish, a couple sea robins, tiny tiny pufferfish, stingray, and an assortment of lots of other critters.
On land I switched out batteries and the camera worked. UGH. I thought I charged both before venturing up here..

I'm used to diving in the Great Lakes, so cold doesn't bother me too much. Last summer I wore my 7 mm in Lake Erie with water temp in the low 70s and I felt too warm. I guess I'll bring both suits and see how it goes.

LOL, I dived Lake Erie a few years ago with a 2 piece 7mm, in August.. and I was so cold my eyeballs hurt!

In one week I'll be down there in Palm Beach- can't wait to get under the bridge! What are people wearing for wet suits? I'm hoping to get away with my 3mm but thinking maybe I should bring the 7mm.

The last night dive the temps were down to 70, I didn't wear a hood, and had my 3mm on. I was with Tim who was taking macro photography. After about 1.5 hrs I started to feel cold. We are getting in the water in a few hours from now and I'll bring my hood. I thought about wearing my lavacore top/hood, but I know I'll get too hot.

Had a nice dive today with some fellow "trolls" followed by a nice meal (with lots of french fries!) Not sure of the temp because I never looked. Vis was ok out front but by the time we got to the west side it was horrible. Mr Chen and his buddy were total troopers and kept plugging along while jimw and I turned around and went back to the beach.

Here are some photos I got (Mr Chen gets credit for locating the SH!)

Dive was awesome!! Thank you all for having me along!! Can't wait to do it again!! We need the Seahorse pics!!

After 4 weeks of abstinence, finally managed to get away from my to-do list, and up to the bridge ... nothing spectacular, except my very first Lionfish, ever ... maybe, I need to carry something a little bigger than a blunt-tip BC knife;)

Arubandi07, please share the exact location of the lionfish so collectors may collect. ;)

I got a nice couple hour in dive yesterday. Meandered along just enjoying the dive and the scenery.
Did find a nudi.. thing could have rested on the head of a pin. How I found it I don't know. Even with the diopters on my camera, I had to crop a lot away.
