Since Hurricane Milton, I was suffering on a 35 day surface interval. I made last second plans to dive Sunday with a buddy who unfortunately had to cancel 2 hours prior to getting in the water. I arrived at the parking lot around 11:30am for a 3PM HT, and the parking lot was near or at capacity. At the light, about 8 people were crossing from the beach to the parking lot, so I followed behind them until a group jumped in a car and left.

I walked to the east bridge and to the end of the fishing pier to bide my time. About 1.5 hrs til splash time, I see Jenny with a few people. I felt guilty for not thinking to text her to see if she wanted to dive but was happy to see her. She was guiding and when she found out that I didn't have a dive agenda (I didn't have my camera), she invited me to join her as a second set of eyes.

Visibility was mostly 10-15ft. It was VERY easy to kick up silt, easier than usual. Water temp on the first half was 82 and 81 on the second half. I couldn't find any nudis or flat worms. Besides the usual eels and fish, I did find 3 skeleton shrimp, a jawfish, and a sea spider. I may have found a super small doto, but without my camera to take a pic and zoom in, I couldn't verify and didn't bother pointing it out since no one had a camera powerful enough anyways.

We did about a 2.5 hour dive. It was great getting back in the water. The funny thing is, it took me a little longer to get my gear prepped since it had been a month. I'm usually pretty fast with confidently dropping gear to a bin and loading my truck, but I felt a little hesitant that I was going to forget something.

Afterwards, Jenny unexpectedly treated me to dinner and beer at PA Grill, super nice of her.

Did anyone else see the nurse shark under the artificial reef (Reef 8) on Sunday, or was it just me?

Personally, I think they are barnacles.
So.. you're saying those are barnacles on my fins??? LOL

Good seeing you yesterday. Was a good dive, and the group worked well. Got to see a bunch of stuff, sea robin, flying gunard, 3 jawfish, that sea spider (what the heck! they usually have color!), couple sharp tail eels, all the regular fishes... Vis was less than anticipated, but opened up a few places.. Blue water trying to come in.

Just wanted to drop in and give a big thanks to all the bridge trolls in here.
I took my daughter out there yesterday for her first dive following her cert. I had never been myself, but I've peeked in on this thread over the years. All the info and great pics you all have shared made it feel familiar to me (I even spotted @MrChen out there and recognized him from this thread).
We took a guided tour, and it was everything I hoped it would be for her. She was super excited about everything she got to see, and it was a fantastic confidence booster for her. (If you're in here Rick, thanks again!)
She spent today telling everyone she could about the blenny living in a bottle, the eel she watched hunt down a crab, the "adorable little seahorse," the "cute little puffy" (her favorite), the comb jellies, ...you get it.
Anyway, just figured you guys, who clearly have a love for the site, might like to hear what a positive impact it had on a young new diver (and her proud dad).

Next time, come say hi and use the magic word ScubaBoard, even if I don't recognize your board name, it's always a pleasure to meet a fellow SB'er.

When I was at the airport in Roatan in May looking for my ride to the resort, some guy ran out of a bus to say he recognized me from SB. It was pretty cool.

For sure! Based upon my profile picture, if anyone sees me on the MG 111 watching a hawksbill turtle, be sure and come up and say hello.

LOL.. guess I'd be kinda hard to identify based on my avatar.. :)
Just look for those barnacled dirty yellow jet fins. :D
