It's an ego thing. If you feel you have to say that you aren't scared...well....

Just call it dumb, insult everyone and be superior instead of afraid. Wth. Works for me!

Or...even better...just be quiet and don't troll if you aren't interested in the topic at hand! Now there's a new idea.

Well this Saltie loved Blue Grotto. It was pretty frickin cool and I'm not big on confined spaces. I would absolutely go again. I just can't on that day:(

I don't understand the need some people have for putting down a specific type of diving. If it's not your style then just be quiet, don't do it and go on without letting everyone know you are against it in a negative way.

Several SB friends I have never expressed an interested in cavern dives but did them anyway and for that they have earned my respect. Try it. If you don't like it then so be it. At least you gave it a shot.

"It's better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all"

What Is Dumb?? One Who Blast Anothers Dive!!!! Salt Or Fresh ? Who Cares . As Long As You Have A Great Time And Have Good People To Dive With . Thats The Most Important Thing . Good Freinds And A Place To Blow Bubbles . What Else Could One Ask For

Rite on frogman 5..Not afraid of em just dont like em..done it once..It was dumb..Nothing down there,

Oi, you are upsetting the family. *insert godfather smiley* :wink1: Really though, we may not "get it" but it does not make it dumb. Hey, I can't wrap my head around it, however, I respect that my friends and dive buds love it, it is their passion just as salt is ours. Trust me, stick around long enough, you'll do the springs again, as I do, cuz sometimes it is just worth getting to hang around our friends. It is all about the camaraderie we share here :)

Da "Hole Crawler" Jean

P.S. And I feel SO BLESSED to live in such a wonderful place as Florida so as Divers we DO have different choices and different passions and we can all be one , er , uh , Mega-Conch-Family ! :D
Well , OK , One RUM-Conch-Family :11doh:

I knew it was you Eric......the hair threw me for a minute but I figured it out.

I was wondering when rum was going to brought up. Ever try Sailor Jerrys?

Thank you Frogman5 for deleting your post stating that springs diving was dumb.

+1

I'll never forget my first springs dive. Ginnie Springs. With gear donned, I looked at a pool of water 4 inches or so deep , and queried "where do we dive??"

My buddy said "go ahead and wade in".

I did.

50 feet or so depth of water so clean and transparent that my mind boggled! I loved every minute of various Florida springs dives.

They are a treasure, and so worth the effort!
