I'm booked on a Blackbeard's trip October 27th to November 2nd. I was wondering if anyone else here is going that week. I'm looking forward to it. I've done most of my diving in Cozumel/Playa-Del-Carmen area and was looking for a bit of a change.

I'll be in Freeport for two days before the trip, any suggestions on what to see, where to go in town? I'll be staying at the Best Western.

Cheers.

Hey Lanshark,

I'll be there with a few buddies. I heard this is a full boat. I guess it's a shop that has most of the spots. We will be in Port Lucaya the night before. We should hang out when we get down there.

Hey Laughintom,

Here's hoping it will be an interesting group of people on board then. From what I've read on Scuba board and elsewhere, BlackBeard's is my type of outfit as I am a rather easy going/low maintenance traveler. I arrive on the Thursday, flying from Toronto through Charlotte, NC. I'll take a wander into Port Lucaya on Friday.

It looks like we will just miss the full moon for night diving. I'll be taking my Underwater Camera with me and I am looking forward to the Shark dive.

The only thing that "Concerns" me is that it's not all drift diving which means that I might actually have to swim around a bit...laugh. I'm just so used to diving in Cozumel with a 4 - 5 knot current on the reefs north of the marine park. :)

I'll be taking my regulator in for service next week and I still have to buy a couple more memory cards for my Camera.

PS. Do you guys use Dive computers/own gear?

Don't worry about the full moon. I'm bringing my 24 watt HID. So powerful you can almost smell the fish baking underwater! We are bringing our own gear so less room for other stuff. And if you don't want to swim, just tuck some raw meat in your buddies pockets. The sharks will come to you!

All right. We're now one month away and I know this is a full boat. Speak up folks. Who else is going?

I just got a response from Blackbeard's There's only the one boat going out this trip. With my luck, 90% of the people on board will snore...

I just bought more memory for my Digital Camera and my Regulator is now in for service. My anticipation is growing.

T - 22 Days and counting...

Sorry Bro. I am definitely a snorer. World class.... possibly worse than living next to an airport. I did buy 25 pairs of earplugs for my cruisemates (NO JOKE). Hopefully that will make it a little easier on everyone.

Laugh, fortunately I'll have my noise canceling headphones with me for my iPod. I might still survive, if worst comes to worse, I'll just sleep on deck.. I'm hoping someone will drag along a laptop so we can all share pictures etc.

Last call for the Blackbeard's trip, anyone from Scubaboard going? All my stuff is packed, I've shut off the Cellphone so work can't call me until I leave on Thursday morning. I'm spending 2 nights in Freeport before boarding the boat.

Cheers.
