Hi,

I got a very big sunburn the day after a dive (18 hours).
(Legs, arms, shoulders and upper chest)
(2 dives of 35 minutes at 60' with a safety stop and 1:15 between the dives)

It's probably nothing but I have little red spots all over the sunburn of my legs and I was wondering if a sunburn can have an
influence on decompression sickness? (I'm not very worried for this sunburn but I like a general answer for future reference.)

(Note: The red spot is like when you pinch yourself.)

Thanks you

I am not 100% sure but it sounds more like sun posining. I believe it's the next step after sunburn. As for sunburn relating to decompression I have never heard anything but again I have never researched that specifically.

Sun Poisoning: Symptoms and Treatment

Hi Osil:

I doubt that sunburn would cause a DCS problem. There are no studies - it would be a little difficult!:shocked2:

Possibly others have some anedotal evidence, one way or another!
