As a long time reader, but virgin poster to ScubaBoard, and am hoping that for some destination advice.
My wife and I are going to Singapore in Dec for a conference, but afterwards plan on returning to Laos/Cambodia for some more backpacking. In between Singapore and Cambodia I want to find a nice island or beach where I can get about a weeks diving in.
Where do people recommend we head for some diving at that time of year? Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia? I have been told that the weather will be against us in some places.
We are not big on crowds (Kao San Rd is our idea of Hell), and my wife is not a diver (yet
) so a smaller secluded destination would be ideal, but am open to all suggestions. I'm not going to take any of my dive gear, so would need an operator who hires out gear. In S.E. Asia, I have previously dived Manado, Pulau Wei, and Pulau Saparua (near Ambon).
