Went out with RIOceanographer to Ft Wetherill for a night dive and had a blast. we went from cove to cove. Vis was awful (<5ft) at the surface but increased to roughly 10 ft, probably less, as we went down. Bottom temperature of 66 degrees F at around 40 ft. Saw a ton of awesome squid that were interacting with our lights (very cool). A good-sized short bigeye and two unknowns. Very strong current around the point going towards the open ocean. that's about it. There was no moonlight to be seen

Oh come on John!!!! The first thing I did the weekend I got back from my Hawaii trip in February was go dive Wetherill (water 39, air 25 :D, vis <5ft)!

Man, that's hard core!!

Yes, SoCal is that nice....we had great conditions, vis mostly@50'. Tons of life! It was my first 'tropical' scuba vacation!:D

I'll be back in the murk soon, I'm sure. Thinking about a bug hunt at the pier in the near future.;)
