Best way to clean a dive slate?

I'm sure it depends on your slate, but mine works fine with a normal pink eraser. I grabbed a 3 pack of the large rectangular ones from the local office supply, they work great on shore. In the water, we just use sand.
 
Another vote for just a normal eraser.
