I always flew Continental Micronesia through GUM and HNL. They seemed to have the diver needs worked out pretty well. This was best via LAX or Houston to Guam through Honolulu, although the Vegas United connection to Honolulu works well too. You could go from several cities via Japan if you just want to say you were there - my son did that. There is no end to possibilities.
I used the Continental Micronesia Executive desk or Dianne at Micronesia Divers Association - Guam. Guam & Micronesia Pacific Scuba Diving.

Your best US mainland gateways coming west in terms of airport amenities are Houston or San Francisco Int'l. Coming from Houston on Continental/United Airlines, your Pacific oversea route will take you through Honolulu, Guam, a potential short stopover in Yap depending on flight schedule and finally Palau. From San Francisco, the overseas route is through Narita (Tokyo) airport, then down to Guam-Yap-Palau.

The Yap stop depends upon which day of the week that you fly. It can be added or avoided as you wish. I would not mind a few days of diving there as well, but I opted to go to Pelilieu instead.
