My great aunt and uncle(passed away years ago...great folks) had a place right across from the Green Harbor PO w/i walking distance of Burke's Beach. Lots of great childhood memories were made there. I remember one time my dad and his buddies were diving(not SCUBA) and juming of the jetty rocks and the Harbor Master came by to warn them about sand sharks in that area. Sharks!! I was talking about that for weeks. Auntie Grace made the BEST clam chowder.

That reminds me of a day I was hangin out at Burke's Beach in the 80's and a dogfish came in close to shore. I grabbed it by the tail and held it up for all the little kids to check out. Then I threw it back in the water. I had a half dozen irate mothers screaming at me for "putting the shark back in the water".:11:

If anyone's up for a nite dive at Brant Rock in a couple weeks I'll be on vacation. I've got nothing planned for the 14-18th (besides diving my tail off).

Jack:

I'm definitely up for that nite dive @ BR we missed last year...was it last year? Wow, time flies. Anyhow, that week I have the 15th and 16th off. Check the tides and maybe we can set something up for a late afternoon & then a nite dive.

BTW, w/o giving any a secrets, did you find any scalloping locations near Plymouth? I grabbed enough for dinner in the Outer Harbor the other day. Harder to find, but easier to catch than lobster. Hear from you.

I could be up for a BR dive that week. Off on the 14th and out at 5:00 on the other days.

4:49 on the 15th, 5:46 on the 16th. I've marked my calendar for both days.

I didn't make last weekend's scallop dive. I was in NH with the family. I haven't spoken with Jim yet to get the report.

JohnL, how far is work from BR?

Either day, Jack. Probably the 16th would be better for me. I marked it on my calendar and I'll touch base with you before then to confirm. Maybe I can convince my brother to join us....ScubaStew??

Do you guys mind another diver for the afternoon/night at BR?

Matt:

Have you done Minot's Beach shore dive recently? I checked it out maybe two years ago and it seemed like a very difficult place to get a parking spot. Is it worth it?

I am about 35-40 minutes from BR. Maybe less if traffic cooperates.

High tide's about 5:50, sunset at 7:41. I say we meet at 6:00 for 2 tanks. Finish the first before sunset in case we grab a bug or two. Start the second dive at sunset. Post-dive beers at Haddad's.
