Have you done Minot's Beach shore dive recently? I checked it out maybe two years ago and it seemed like a very difficult place to get a parking spot. Is it worth it?
Neither lately nor ever. I'll try anything once though. Let me know if you go.

Yeah, I will. I love the Cape Ann sites, but the long ride combined with the crappy parking situation, the traffic trying to get back home and the apparent ill will directed at divers has got me thinking of alternate shore sites on the SS. I'd like to give Black Rock, Minot, Sandy, Peggoty and some Plymouth sites a go. We will see...

If you guys don't mind a new addition, I'll be vacationing in Hyannis that week and it would be great to get in a couple of dives.

Our host Yak from MarshVegas had to dropout of the BR nite dive on the 16th. Anyone still interested in an eve/nite dive at BR or maybe Gun Rock on that same date/time? I'm still available, so PM me.

I dove solo at the Burke's Beach jetty on saturday, and while the depth didn't get pat 15', the vis was good and (among other things) I saw several horseshoe crabs mating, several large lobsters and rock crabs (I wasn't hunting at the time), a few medium sized Tautog, and I was passed several times by a school of about 50 striped bass. It was really cool... too bad the other side of the jetty is a channel.

Where's Burke's Beach?

Matt was that HT or what? 15fsw isn't too bad if there's stuff to see...did you say lobstahs!? Horseshoe crabs mating...you made me blush. Burke's Beach is in the Green Harbor section of MarshVegas.

Yeah, high tide. There's limited $10 parking available behind the green harbor lobster pound, but it's a good beach and dogs are allowed, so it's not a bad choice for a family beach day with a dive or two.

Could you snorkel along the jetty or do you have to get down to the bottom to see anything? Wife's interested in snorkeling 'cause she's a floater, not a sinker.

Any takers for the eve/nite dive on the SS for the 16th?? PM me if so, otherwise I guess I'll be staying home on my nite off.
