I've had my Apeks ATX200 down in the 80 to 100 foot range a number of times and it breathed as effortlessly down there as it did at 20 feet.:)

I've got Apeks DS4 first stages and a variety of [A]TX50/100/200 second stages and they all breathe at 100-120 fsw just like they do at 20 fsw.

Another two yr old thread you got sucked into

I have used both Atomic and Apeks well below 100' and have been very happy with both of them. The high end Aqua Lung regs and the high end Scuba Pro regs also perform very well at deeper depths.

My opinion is that the high end regs would work great at these depths, but my buddies have a Tusa RS-130 and they have done 130ft with no problems. I have only gone down to 60 on mine, and was fine there. Of course I am new to the sport so take that into consideration. The Tusa's are not that expensive and except for a few people on here that have used older rental models I have heard nothing but good things about them. I have also heard that they are patterned off of the Scubapro regs, I am not positive on that but I have heard that.

Honestly, there is not a modern reg from any Major that won't do 100 ft fine. I get serious about my reg choice in technical at twice that depth and more.

I have the Mares V-16 Proton Metal, and have to agree with the other Mares votes here. It is easy breathing from the surface to my current max depth of 115'.

I upgraded from my reliable sherwoods to a scuba pro G250 which is ajustable and easy breather. I also from time to time used my mares rigs.

I have a Blizzard that is about a year old and it breathes just as easy at 90 feet as it does at 10 feet. It's strange that your Oasis isn't performing well. It's the same as a Blizzard except for the exhaust.

keyshunter:
which Oasis do you have? I have an old Blizzard circa 1991,(basically the same as an Oasis) which had literally hundreds of dives on it in the early 90's at least a dozen beyond 150' and it breathed fine. All I did was have the IP increased when I moved to a warm water area. We still use this old reg quite frequently. It is going to the Caymans as a backup next month.

I have a newer Oasis, about 1999 which is just miserable at anything approaching 100'. It has been worked on by a tech at least 5 times and is better, but not very good. We use it as an absolute --everything else down--last ditch reg. This unit has driven me to USD ( sold and serviced by the same shop). I thought I had just gotten a bad one, but maybe not.
