Best Month for Manta Dive

I'm planning a trip around the Manta dive in Kona around July. Of course Mantas are not guaranteed, but I was wondering if July has a high probability of seeing Mantas in Kona.

If anyone has any good input on dive sites in Kona or Maui that would be much appreciated. I'm OW certified with just 9 dives under my belt at the GBR. I haven't done shore dives and I'm not sure if I would need to get training or if it's even worth the hassle for the saved expense.

Mantas are seen year-round. They don't have a season. However, the sea conditions in July tend to be calm and clear. If there is a swell, it would most likely be S or SW. The garden eel cove manta site is completely protected from this swell direction. You'll have an excellent chance of seeing mantas and having good conditions in July. Have fun!
