On Blackbeard's you usually have the oppertunity to make up to 20 dives during the week. You'll do 3- 4 dives a day. I was only able to make 19 because I had to sit out the last one because of my no fly time. I was pushing my no decompression limits & wanted to stay on the safe side.

An attractive feature for me is that during your SI's you can deep sea fish and depending on the catch that is an option for dinner that evening

I would say Blackbeard's also. You can't beat the price, plus once you are onboard everything is included. You will be able to do about 20 dives including a shark dive, walls and they have some great wrecks off Freeport.

There are some very economical liveaboards in the Phuket/Khao Lak area of Thailand, but the plane fare to get there is a bi*ch.

Blackbeards just sent out an email cutting the cost for a weeklong trip in January and February of 2007 $100.00. The price is now $799.00 for one week. If you have access to AirTran in your area and you do a purchase well in advance you can get a 1 way ticket for as low as 99.00 making it about 250 or so roundtrip.

Jvalent,

I operate a luxurious 14 foot key west tender with a 40cc engine hanging off the back. Accommodations are a little tight (you can cram yourself under the bench at night) but meals (ham and cheese sandwiches and a bottle of pop!) are included in the deluxe package, and the staff (me) is very friendly and experienced!! We offer 7-10 days all inclusive packages from my dock, out to the edge of the channel, and then back here in lovely Boca Ciega Bay!! Trip's run between $800 - $1500 a week, or you can just buy me a beer! Hope to hear from you!!!

The S/V Juliet out of Miami. About $1400, 104' and no more than 12 paying divers. Most of the cabins are very nice, one has twin bunks and the last two bunks are sorta in the open. True, two half days are spent crossing the Gulf Stream.
