There are three cameras that I use: Intova Sport HD, GoPro Hero3, and Cyclops CGX2. The Sport HD by far has the best audio for underwater. The CGX2 has really good video for 1080. I no longer use my GoPro underwater; it works fine with my drone.

None of three cameras are that great for stills.

If you do not have a monitor or TV that is 4K then filming in 4K is pointless.

The higher the frame rate the less jerky the camera will be when panning. Personally I would rather have 1080 with 60 or 120 fps over 4k with less than 30 fps.

What are you looking to achieve?

is a video I shot a month ago in Belize with a Hero 4. No lights (well, ok, some lights, but mainly during a night dive and 2-3 times under ledges), no filters, down to 52m.

GoPro stills work just fine to me and friends that I share my pix with. And remember, you can create a still from any movie grabbing it using the GoPro software.

Nice video. Lotsa nurse sharks and rays :D Is the lionfish still swimming around?

What resolution and shutter speed was this shot at?

I have a SJ7000 ($42 at GearBest) that I've been using to introduce myself to underwater video before I decide to spend hundreds of $$$. So far I think I got my $42 worth but it's difficult to find filters etc for it. The standard GoPro video lights that clip onto the underneath work fine. I've been shooting at 720 DPI @ 60 FPS and it looks less jerky than at the higher resolution.(like what shurite7 said).

That's exactly what I'm looking for right there. thank you. Do you have it mounted to anything or just holding it?

I use an ActiveOn CX Gold - currently about $64 @ https://www.amazon.com/ACTIVEON-Gol...d=1493903827&sr=8-1&keywords=activeon+cx+gold

It does 1080p at 60 frames and 4k at 15 frames and in-between as well. It's still pic resolution is better than GoPro. All GoPro accessories (mounts) are interchangable with the ActiveOn. The only thing that doesn't fit are the filters. I got these https://www.amazon.com/Jili-Online-...4112&sr=8-15&keywords=gopro+filter+underwater and ground out the side ?holders? with a Dremmel type tool. Then they fit.

I also bought a additional battery so that gives me 8 hours of diving without having to re-charge. I tried wrist & head mounts and found I prefer this one for diving https://www.amazon.com/ProGear-Cust...04751&sr=8-193&keywords=hand+mounts+for+gopro It switches easily from hand to hand underwater and can be clipped off on my harness/BC when I need both hands totally free. I got this one to mount the camera on my night dive light https://www.amazon.com/TELESIN-Roll...904667&sr=8-91&keywords=hand+mounts+for+gopro

I've been very happy with all aspects of the camera.
