My ex had similar issues and loved the Scubapro D400. But you have to find one of the older ones with the metal orifice and none of the CE detunuing that occured to them before they were discontinued. A D300 or D350 are also great options.

Since I have both the Legend and the Titan LX I have had the opportunity to swap seconds and firsts and frankly any differences are just about imaginary. The Legend has the extra knob so when it is turned for best performance it breaths about as good as the Titan LX. If I take the Legend second and put on the Titan first, again, just not much difference. If I take the Titan and the Legend and put them on doubles, one left and the other right, and then swap breathing on them, if you forget which one your on you can always flip the second over and see which has the bling ring unless last time you took it apart you swapped the bling ring to the Titan. The only difference between the Legend second and the Titan second is the bling ring and the flow knob. N

Must disagree with you here. I own 2 Titan LX regs and love them; they are a great bargain for the price and perform very well. But my Legend breathes noticably better--easier and smoother, despite my using it with the setting knobs fully turned down.

BTW, the Hollis DC1 I recommended earlier is essentially the same reg as the Oceanic EOS others have praised. Hollis is the tech division of Oceanic.

Check your IPs and make sure they are spec or above. AL is notorious for shipping with low IP. You can safely set your Titan above spec. There are a few other things you can do as well but I cannot tell you those.

I have been a huge fan of Mares regs for some time. I recently purchased an Atomic ST1 and I very impressed, I am just not sure that it breathes any easier than my Abyss or my old Mares Ruby for that matter. I imagine that the top brands better offerings are breathe fairly similar. Weight and mouth piece might play an important factor in choosing the best one for you our your loved ones needs.

It should be pointed out that there is a huge difference between the Titan and the Titan LX.

Zeagle for me.

I have the Atomic B2. Light weight, swivel and is an easy brether.

May thank yoos to all! It seems that there is a bit of bias one way or another to diff brands, to be expected. I will be looking into the AL and the EOS. Never tried the mares, didn't they buy out dacor or something?
