Where have you seen that... is that another Facebok post? lol...just look on a map. Komodo resort is maximum 1hr slowboat ride from Labuan Bajo. I've never been there (too expensive or no availabilities)
FWIW Komodo resort is the best rated resort of all hotel/accoms in Labuan Bajo area.

Oooops! I mis-read their website. it looks like a 30 - 40 min ride on a speedboat.

have you been there?

Its a nice little resort, have had lunch there a few times. It's about a 45 mins speed boat ride from LBJ. Great location for an afternoon hike up the hill for a great view. Looks like a professional operation, much better/more relaxing/more of a resort feel than staying in LBJ that is for sure.

Luko (and others):

Please be so kind as to give me your advice about Alor for next September. I probably will go there then.

What I remember is 21deg, currents - known best by one of the operators there (Alor Divers?) and there was a second resort mentioned if I absolutely need AirCon.

How long should I stay?

Thanks,

Big Bill

I stayed in Alor Divers on Sep 3-7, 2012. Bungalows have no AC, but cool breeze at night & fan helped me sleeping through the nights. I wore 3mm full wetsuit on all my dives.

Here are some notes from my logbook if that would help you decide:

These dolphins greeted us on the way to the resorts.

Dan thanks for putting things straight with figures and facts. Bill if you want to get cold or just dive muck, you stay and dive in the south of Pantar strait & you'll get your aircon.

btw, did you see THEM dive 7. at current alley?

So it is Alor Divers, then, is that the recommended place?

Alor divers is the place I would recommend everytime (been there 3 times) BUT you won't get your aircon (which is unnecessary at this place, everyone will tell you, Dan, me, everybody... )

Alor Divers - Eco resort- Alor Archipelago - Indonesia

Oh yeah, forgot the length of stay : 9 days is good IMO. (We stayed once 7 days and twice 9 days), it's the only place where I can stay that long.

Did you see great things? Were they great dives?

Saw sharks in Current Alley. Anemones were every where in Apuri. Saw Weedy Scorpionfish for the first time & huge, not shy Mandrinfish. Pretty good muck diving. No Mola Mola though :(

Yep. Not long enough. It’ll be on top of my list in this coming trip in September. I’ll ask Blue Manta to stop by the site. I think it’s a must have dive.

It was my first time doing negative entry then. I had a hard time getting down fast against the up current at that time. Since then I had tons of practice in doing negative entries in Komodo, Raja Ampat, Maratua Atoll, Galápagos, Palau & Cocos. I would really enjoy diving in the Current Alley again.
