still researching this issue guys should i get it with the plate or without?
I'm guessing you have decided on back inflate. As for a backplate and wing versus other back inflates, it depends. A good 7 lb steel backplate is nice for getting your weight better distributed and taking some or all of the weight off your belt. On the other hand, it is obviously a bit heavier than a regular back inflate bc. If you plan on diving doubles at some point, this is the best route to go. You can always get an aluminum backplate if you want to go lighter.
My wife on the other hand has a regular back inflate - a Zeagle escape. It is light weight and functions well with good positioning in the water. Not designed for doubles, but a nice bc.
Try out both types of back inflate before you buy if you can. Considering you are in Tampa, this should not be a problem.
