I switched over to a digital balance charger. Can charge almost anything from nimh, nicad, lithium and lead acid. Even does my scooter at a stretch. I do travel with two for backup purposes, since all my charging except camera battery goes through them.

You can charge any battery size by using a DIY battery holder that cost $1-2. The real saving is in minimizing the battery charging packs as they add up the weight bulk quickly with cameras, lights, strobes, etc...
