BARE Wetsuit Sizing

I just ordered a Bare Velocity 3/2 from LeisurePro but I am concerned that I ordered the wrong size (too small).

I am:
175 lbs
5' 9"
33" Waist
41" Chest

The guy I talked to from LeisurePro recommended that I get the Medium/Large since he said they run a bit small but the M/L was out of stock in Black so I got the Medium. Not really a huge deal since they have a good return policy but I have a dive on the 22nd that I need a suit for, so if the Medium is definitely going to be too small I'll just wait for the M/L to come back in stock so I don't have to waste time with shipping back and forth.

Any advice?

You could be a large/short. Check your inseam and hip measurements and go on bare's website and look at sizing charts.

BARE suits do run small, and I think that the Medium is going to be too small!

I'm 5'7", 155lbs, 41" Chest, 32" waist and I just put on a BARE M/L Ignite that is in my store. It was just a hair big but Diveable.

With you being 2" taller and 20lbs. heavier........You will need a M/L!

I'm 5' 11", did weigh 185 (now down to 165 - Yea!), and had a 34" waist, and got a BARE Large, just like their sizing chart recommends. It was a little loose on me then, and now I am concerned that it will have even more extra material. I love the suit, but if I had it all to do over again, even at my prior weight, I think I would have gotten a MTall. It might have been a little snug, but I'd prefer that to being too loose fitting.

Notwithstanding my sizing issue, I think you will like diving in the suit.

Thanks for the help - since the M/L in black is still out of stock, I'm just going to wait for the Medium to arrive and try it on. If it is way too tight, I'll just send it back for the M/L. I would rather it be a little snug rather than have creases and pockets where water can get in.

I agree. Good choice, both for sizing and for a great wetsuit. Once you dive it, a review for the rest of us might be handy.

I'll let you know how it fits when it gets here and I'll definitely give a review once I put it to use.

Old thread, but to add my experience to someone looking for sizing on the Bare suits, I'm 5'10" 165lbs, and the L (Elastek 3mm) was comfortable but too big for me. The M I switched it out for (store didn't carry M/L) is much better, if a little tight.
