Hello All,

I am looking at getting either the Bare Velocity 8/7 mm semi dry or the Aqualung SolAfx and wondering if anyone has any recommendations between the 2. Bare is about $200 more and wondering if it is worth it.

Also has anyone ever had any issues overheating in these suits? Majority of my diving will range from temps of 55-70.

Thanks

I have a SolAfx.

My only gripe is the stretchy material compresses more at depth (100ft) and looses more of its insulation at depth than a traditional non-stretchy neoprene. I also don't think its a a true semi-dry suit, but a good wetsuit with seals to retain heat.

Its very, very comfortable, easy to don/doff. The integral hood is great and after about 80 dives on it, still looks and works well.

I ordered the SolAfx 8/7 mm today. Couldnt tell a huge difference between the Bare or Aqualung, at least not for a $200 price difference. I have heard nothing but good things about the SolAfx also. Hopefully I will be pleased.
