I am looking to get a reg set up with reg, octo, and computer and i was wondering what people thought were the best regulator brands and models for the money.

THANKS

the Aqualung Titan LX Supreme...

its a great reg with coldwater capabilities and a long history of quality AND its a great bargain... right around $300. You could Easily spend twice as much on a reg and not be able to discern ANY difference in workability.

Also , maybe for your first year of diving you could forgo the computer and get Solid on your tables... this will also allow you to put more money towards the things that Really count (reg and BC).

I find that for my local diving, quarries.... less than 80'... rarely exceeding two dives/day that I dont Need a computer. Sure they're convenient and flashy, but unless your doing 5 dives/day and Really need to squeeze the most out of your bottom times/surface interval efficiency I think you'd be better off putting that computer money towards more important gear. Its the decision I made for myself when I got certed this year, and I still may not buy a computer next year either... we'll see... , its just not Needed for the type of diving I do and I find myself comfortable with the tables.

That is good advice, and I totally agree that the Titan is a great regulator.

Apeks XTX 20 and US4.
Zeagle Envoy.
Aqualung Titan LX.

All the above are balanced diaphragm 1st stages and balanced 2nd stages and offer great performance and reliability. My choice would be in the order listed.

That Alpha 8 CDX5 package is nice. I have 2 setup for single tank diving.

IMHO if I had to choose just one reg for any and all purposes, it would be the Zeagle ZX-DSV.

You're gonna get a wjole lot of recommendations. My 2 cents is the Zeagle Envoy, Envoy Deluxe, or DS/V. The Cressi Ellipse looks good and I almost bought one and after my last 2 dive trips wish I had as my Zeagle ZX which is the second stage on the DS/V was causing some jaw fatigue. The Cressi is small and light weight, Went with the DSV/ZX setup since it would go into tech diving with out a problem if I decide to go that route and it's a solid performer in the cold quarry I practice. There are a lot of solid well priced regulators from all the manufacturers.

For the most bang for your buck the Zeagle Envoy Deluxe is an awesome reg.

That would depend on how far your advancing with your diving. Nothing worse than spending good money to only want to upgrade a year later. If your going to stay in the recreational field of diving Oceanic and aqualung are a great priced setup for sure. I bought Aqalung Glacia and a Cobra 2 computer. I love them. If you ever decide to go to the tech side of diving you may want to spend a little extra now rather than alot later. I am now going doubles and heading towards the tech side of diving. I need to get setup. So Had i thought of this before I would have gone with something I could use down the road. Hope you understand what i am saying. But still you can't go wrong with aqualung or oceanic. Just remember it is your comfort ease of breathing thats important.

Good luck and happy shopping!

Another vote for the Titan LX Supreme. I also dive the pricier Legend, another aqaulung reg but I would (and do) dive the Titan anywhere in any conditions.

I have a Suunto Gekko for a computer, very affordable and does what I need it to do.
