That's exactly right. We always drop our tanks, fins, masks, etc...but head to the showers to strip off the wetsuit. I carry my change of clothes in a small backpack along with a towel and whatever jacket I'll be putting on. We always stay in the onsite lodging. It's older and a bit outdated, but most of the rooms are actually two bedroom suites with a shared kitchenette. They open on the back side to a small veranda, and there are grills and picnic tables there. If the weather is warm, it's a good place to dry out gear.
I can't remember the name of the little Mexican restaurant in town, but it seems like it's "Rosita's" or something. GOOD food! One thing we discovered on our last trip there...one of the local convenience stores (there are only a couple, so odds are good you'll find it...) has a large selection of what appear to be locally made burritos, tacos, tomales, and toquitos. They're refrigerated, but you can either microwave them there or take them back to the hotel. Let me tell you, a few of those, some chips, and some locally produced hot sauce (also from the store), and it's a great quick lunch between dives.
Hope you have a great time!
