Not thread hijacking but looking for some more info, as I am also putting together a BP/W.
What determines whether you need a single tank adaptor (STA) using a DR SS plate with a 30# donut wing. the plate has slots for 2 tank bands.

I switched to BP/W last year when I went to doubles, it only seamed natural to purchase a singles wing and use the same rig for double and singles diving. I purchased a HOG singles wing which I like very much and has a built in tank stabilizer. With that being said I use a weighted STA, It was a pain in the butt to keep the wing/plate/tank all lined up straight when swapping tanks. Some people have suggested to use sex bolts to hold the plate and wing together but I don't think these people have tried this because then the tank sits on top of the bolts and will shift more than I would like and the tank sits above the stabilizers. Yes the stay does move the tank about 1/4" further from by back but have not noticed any adverse effects.
